The Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin
is one of the most emblematic appellations of our country nowadays. It spreads
over several areas of Galicia that share certain common conditions, giving
some characteristics of similarity to its wines. These five distinguishable
sub-zones are: Ribeira do Ulla, Val do Salnés, Soutomaior, Condado
de Tea and O Rosal.
O Rosal valley is located in the North West of Spain and
South West of Galicia, where our mighty Miño river becomes into a
natural border with our neighbour country, Portugal. Apart from the
Argallo Mountain range, which protects the valley from the Northern winds,
cultivation lands are abundant here, so that fruit trees, plants, vegetables,
vineyards and landscape blend together in harmony, granting it a particular
enchantment.
Well known because of its special microclimate, with
mild temperatures throughout all the year thanks to its privileged geographical
situation and Atlantic influence, O Rosal is undoubtedly a reference in
the winegrowing world. We must also emphasize its rich and renowned gastronomy,
characterized by typical and traditional dishes and exceptional seafood,
which so perfectly match with our fine and fresh wines.
It is here where our main varietal, the Albariño grape, stands out
together with other local varieties. Wines of intense
aromas and balanced acidity, which are pleasant and attractive for the most
exquisite palates.
